Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers legend Gil Hodges signed this Official American League Joseph E. Cronin baseball. Hodges is one of the great omissions from the Hall of Fame, a steady first baseman whose ten season prime equaled that of any slugger of his era. Later in his career Hodges became an inaugural member of the New York Mets, playing his last two seasons in the city he started his career in. In 1967 he was named the manager of the Mets, leading them to their first World Series title in the Amazin’ Mets season of 1969. Hodges managed the Mets until 1972, when he tragically passed away due to a heart attack on the eve of the season. His legacy is great, and Hodges is remembered as a hero to both Dodger and Met fans.
He used black pen to sign his name on the sweet spot of this Reach baseball bearing the stamped signature of American League President Joseph Cronin. This ball is encased in a PSA/DNA holder with the seal still intact and has been graded a 7 for the autograph, baseball and overall. This ball comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA (AC03158).
