Offered is a scored game for the Providence Baseball club, dated May 30, 1883, and scored in the hand of Harry Wright, the godfather of baseball who was manager of the Providence Grays at the time. The first page has the May 30, 1883 date with Providence and the “Buffalos” (Buffalo Bisons) at Providence, where HOFer Charles “Old Hoss” Radbourne had two hits for Providence. However, the second part of this “game” has a scored page for the New York Giants including HOFers Buck Ewing, Roger Connor, Montgomery Ward and Mickey Welsh. And these two teams obviously did not play the same game. While this does not include a complete game, the pages do represent five Hall of Famers. It is well known the 1883 Harry Wright complete 1883 Providence Grays bound scorebook was broken up by a dealer with individual pages sold. Since most of the known pages reside in private collections, it is extremely rare these do come available. This is a great opportunity to obtain one of these scarce score pages. LOA from James Spence Authentication regarding the handwriting of Harry Wright and not an actual Wright signature.
