Offered in this lot is a beautiful shadow box display piece featuring items from Hall of Famer Jeff Bagwell. Bagwell, the pride of Killingworth, Connecticut and the University of Hartford, played his entire Major League career with the Houston Astros. In what is considered one of the most lopsided trades in baseball history, the Boston Red Sox, who drafted Bagwell, traded a then top prospect minor leaguer to the Houston Astros for relief pitcher Larry Andersen. Andersen was a rent-a-pitcher for the Sox in their 1990 stretch run that won them the AL East, while Bagwell would go on to have his Hall of Fame career that consisted of 449 home runs, 2,314 his, a lifetime .297 hitter and the 1994 NL MVP.

Included in this 16 x 38 x 5-inch shadow box is a game used Worth WC201 model bat dated to Bagwell’s 1990-91 seasons. This bat displays excellent game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, blue ink transfers and bat rack streaks present on the barrel. Bagwell’s number “5” is handwritten in black marker on the knob. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B11007) and has been given a high grade of GU 8.5. The items are a pair of black Franklin gloves worn by Bagwell in his career, most likely in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. These gloves display heavy game use with “BAGWELL” screen-printed on each index finger in white and a custom pad applied to the left glove. These gloves come with a LOA from MEARS for the game use. The next item is a signed Official Robert D. Manfred Jr. stamped baseball with the National Baseball Hall of Fame logo on the side panel. Bagwell signed his name in blue pen below the Hall of Fame logo and inscribed “HOF 17”. The next item is a 1991 Upper Deck Jeff Bagwell #755 rookie card that has been encapsulated by PSA (26809626) and graded a GEM MINT 10. Additionally, there are two signed cards by Bagwell – one is National Treasures card that is a limited-edition 25/49 and a Topps Certified Autograph Issue Jeff Bagwell card that is a limited-edition 09/18. Bagwell’s signatures have been authenticated by Beckett Authentication. Please note that due to the size and weight of this item, shipping costs will be higher.
