Offered here is a baseball signed and inscribed by New York Yankees legendary center fielder Joe DiMaggio. Joltin’ Joe helped the Yankees transition out of the Ruth/Gehrig era into a new generation of excellence, winning nine World Series titles from 1936-1951. The son of a fisherman, Joe DiMaggio became an American icon through his play for the Bronx Bombers and his short-lived marriage to Marilyn Monroe. DiMaggio was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1955, and owns one of baseball’s greatest records, hitting safely in 56 consecutive games during the 1941 season. The Yankees retired his #5 jersey and Major League Baseball named him to their All-Century team.
DiMaggio signed this ball in blue ballpoint pen on the sweet spot of the ball. The ball is a Rawlings Official American League baseball, bearing the stamped signature of American League President Gene Budig. Under his name, DiMaggio inscribed “HOF 55.” This ball comes with a PSA/DNA STICKER ONLY (1A36666).
