One can only imagine what kinds of secrets were hidden in this vanity that belonged to President John F. Kennedy. This double-latched vanity was used by President Kennedy only 10 days after the ill-fated Bay of Pigs invasion, one of the great calamities of America’s actions during the Cold War. On April 27th, 1961, President Kennedy brought this vanity with him to the 48th Anniversary Dinner for the Bureau of Advertising at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City. While there, the handle for this vanity broke, leading President Kennedy to throw it in the trash, where an opportunistic hotel maintenance worker retrieved and preserved this priceless relic of American history.

This vanity remains in excellent condition, save of course for the broken handle, which is included with this item. The inside of the case features a sumptuous purple lining that demands all of the viewer’s attention. “J. F. K.” is written on the front of the brown vanity in gold letters. Experts of presidential history have examined the vanity and determined that the weathering and wear on the letters is consistent with the rest of the vanity.

This vanity is a breathtakingly unique piece from one of the most beloved presidents in recent memory. Owning it would instantly add an immeasurable amount of prestige and quality to any collection.
