Alex Rodriguez played for 22 seasons in Major League Baseball and clobbered 696 home runs – a number only surpassed by Bonds, Aaron and Ruth. Rodriguez emerged at the leading edge of a generation of shortstops that changed the way baseball fans looked at the game's infielders. At 6-foot-3, the No. 1 overall Draft Pick by the Seattle Mariners should have been "too big" for the position, but instead he was as smooth in the field as he was fearsome at the plate. The 14-time All-Star won three A.L. MVP Awards and became a World Series Champion with the New York Yankees in 2009.
