Besides being given the talents that made him the greatest ball player of all-time, Babe Ruth was also blessed with the most recognizable mug of the 20th century. While many have tried to capture The Babe's essence on canvas, revered baseball artist Arthur K. Miller has truly succeeded in bringing him to life in paint. In Miller's interpretation of Ruth in his prime, The Babe peers directly out from the dugout, his pensive stare has an almost innocence about it, like he is beginning to recognize the viewer. There is a seriousness about his gave yet one can see the beginnings of a grin in the corners of this mouth. Artist Arthur K. Miller's rare talent allows him to perfectly capture the soft folds in his wool road jersey and for a moment you can almost hear the crack of the bat and smell the familiar air of a ballpark. Looking at this piece it is easy to see why The National Baseball Hall of Fame has honored Arthur K. Miller with a special one-man show and many of his baseball portraits reside in private collections. Executed in acrylic on canvas, this magnificent likeness of the Bambino has been professionally framed to 24" x 28 1/2".
