Offered here are a pair of game used size 10 ½ low top Adidas cleats worn by Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. during the 1990 season that come directly from his personal collection. Ripken batted a cool .250 with 21 home runs and 84 RBI during the 1990 season that saw the famed Ironman earn the eighth All-Star selection of his illustrious career. The presented cleats are black leather with the Adidas “Three Stripe” logo in orange on the instep and outstep. The Adidas logo appears in black on the orange portion of the top heel on each cleat with the number “8” written by an unknown hand in black marker. Hard rubber soles anchor six stainless steel cleats attached to hard plastic soles. Ripken signed the heel on the right cleat and inscribed “1990” with a silver metallic paint pen. The cleats display evidence of substantial game use and contain dirt throughout, wear on the black leather throughout, and bleeding of polish into the Adidas stripes. The game used cleats come from the personal collection of Cal Ripken Jr. and are accompanied by a signed LOA from Cal, plus an LOA from J.T. Sports ( Right Cleat-1411, Left Cleat-1412) for the game use.
