One year removed from his 1991 MVP award-winning season, Cal Ripken Jr. used this Rawlings Pro 6-HF glove during the 1992 season as a back-up and possibly during games, coming directly from his personal collection. Ripken played in every game on the schedule for the 10th straight season, was named to his 10th consecutive All-Star game, and won his second Gold Glove at the shortstop. This glove displays excellent game wear and was constructed of premium grade “Heart of the Hide” tanned steer hide, bound with tanned rawhide laces and nylon stitching. The glove features a pro-style single post, double T-bar web, and a closed “Fastback” with finger “Holdster” and adjustable wrist strap. The fingers are highlighted with natural welting. A white on red Rawlings wrist label and an embroidered Rawlings logo appear at the base of the web. The year code on the glove “BEH01” indicates that the glove was manufactured in June of 1991. Ripken has noted “92” in black marker on the index finger. The glove comes in a clear bag that came directly to us from Cal and was labeled “Back Up Gamer Could have Seen game Action When main Gamer was being fixed” and “Gold Glove Year”. This glove comes with a signed LOA from Cal Ripken, Jr. and a LOA from PSA/DNA (1G00703) for the game use.
