Charlie Wonsowicz was employed by the New York Yankees for 21 years, working a variety of roles including advanced scout, video coordinator, and traveling with the team during the Joe Torre era. The left handed former pitcher even threw batting practice on numerous occasions.

This is the 2001 ring issued to “Wonso” when the Yankees won the 2001 American League Championship, before losing a tough seven games series to the Arizona Diamondbacks. The face of the 14K gold Balfour size 11.25 ring has the “Top Hat” Yankees logo on top of a bed of real diamonds, with the hat containing red and blue stones. Around the perimeter of the face are “YANKEES AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS” with Yankees and Champions in raised relief, with American League engraved. One shank has the Year “2001”, a baseball and the term “TRADITION.” The other shank contains the name “WONSOWICZ”, the interlocking “NY” over an American Flag (this was after the terrorist attacks on 9/11), with the word “PRIDE” below. The band has “Charlie Wonsowicz” and the manufacturer name “BALFOUR 14K” etched inside. The team issued ring is accompanied by the original 7-3/8” x 5-7/8” x 2-5/8” with the top glass window etched with “NEW YORK YANKEES 2001 AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS.” Ring weighs 54.9 grams. The is an original team issued ring, while not a more desirable player ring, one which was issued to a man with daily contact with the team. Near Mint condition.
