The game features the return of famed bounty hunter Samus Aran, who once again travels to the planet Zebes to recover an infant Metroid creature stolen by Space Pirate leader Ridley. The game is known for its atmosphere, omnidirectional shooting capabilities, open-world gameplay, killer graphics, and a haunting ambient score that immersed the player in the planet of Zebes. “Super Metroid” sold 1.42 million copies worldwide by 2003 and is widely considered one of the greatest games ever made.
