Encapsulated and graded 9.6 with a “First-Party RTB Seam” seal rating of A++ by WATA Games. Offered here is a sealed and graded copy of “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” developed and published by Sega for the Sega Genesis home console. The platform game is a sequel to the popular “Sonic the Hedgehog” game and was released in North America on November 21, 1992. The sequel features Sonic and the debut of his sidekick, Tails, as they attempt to stop the evil Dr. Robotnik from stealing the Chaos Emeralds to power his space station, the Death Egg. With faster gameplay and special levels that featured pseudo-3D graphics, the game sold more than six million copies and was the second best-selling Genesis game behind the original. The game contributed to Sega’s attempts to overthrow Nintendo during the “Console Wars” of the early 1990s.
This presented copy features a “Made in Japan/Assembled in USA” label on this sealed clamshell case. The “First-Party RTB Seam” seal on the game indicates that it is a late-production copy. A near-perfect sealed specimen from one of Sega’s most successful offerings that are highly sought-after by collectors.
