Comics, Video Game & TCG Elite Auction Closing Sept 18
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2021
In January 1994, Howard Schwartz was hired by Sega of America Midwest Studio as an Associate Producer. He worked directly on the development of the World Heroes and NHL All-Star Hockey ’95 games. As a Sega of America development employee, he worked daily with Genesis development kits. Sega Genesis development kits were in short supply in the early 90s, so much so that EA had to reverse engineer their own. Sega Midwest Studio closed in January 1995. It has remained sealed and has never been opened or used and has remained in his private collection. We are not aware of any other sealed original Genesis development kits and have not seen one come to market. This is a rare piece of gaming history for the true collector that respects the origins of 16-bit video game development. The item comes with an LOA from Schwartz.
