This Game 5 scored program featured a start for Hall of Famer Walter Johnson, but the Giants lineup did not read the prior press clippings, battering The Big Train for 13 hits and six runs en route to a 6-2 victory. Exceptionally attractive sixteen-page large-format program issued for the 1924 World Series games between the Giants and Senators at the Polo Grounds. The cover features large portrait images of each club's respective manager, John McGraw and Bucky Harris, while the interior pages include photos of league and team officials, as well as portraits of twenty-four members of both the Giants and Senators. The pre-printed lineups include Frisch, Kelly, Youngs, and Lindstrom for New York, and Johnson, Harris, Rice, and Goslin for Washington. Lots of Hall of Famers. Separation exists from the top staple of the four innermost pages (where the scorecard portions are) with some looseness form the bottom staple as well. Program cover has some light staining, with “Wednesday Oct 8, 1924”in pencil along with some initials along bottom edge, with neatly inked scoring. Moderate edge and spine wear, with a light fold vertical pocket fold which has smoothed out over the years. Very Good condition.
