Graded MINT 9 by PSA. Hall of Famer, in his Rookie Card appearance. Among more than 8,400 copies recorded in PSA's census reporting, just six examples have been placed at a higher tier. Here's where it all started for the athlete who's universally regarded as one of the best third basemen of all time. This scarcer 1973 Topps "high number," with just one-third of its pictorial content devoted to the Phillies' superstar, is a fairly recent classic for which, nevertheless, many collectors are seeking an upgrade. The offered specimen is highly noteworthy for its photographic clarity, its bright white borders and its super-sharp corners. Very difficult to find with satisfactory centering, this one boasts gratifying balance in alignment, and a pack-fresh rough cut graces the edge to Schmidt's left. This is a marvelous example of a "must-have" collectible, in estimable Mint condition.
