This off-white ONL Warren Giles baseball was used in the June 6, 1968 game between the St. Louis Cardinals (who Carlton played for at the time), and the Houston Astros. Bob Gibson struck out 10 Astros en route to a complete game 4-0 Cardinals victory, and was part of his historic 22-9, 1.12 ERA 1968 season. The ball is signed and inscribed “6-6-68 Steve Carlton” in black ink on a side panel. Although Carlton did not pitch this day, he sure did make some fans day. COA form PSA/DNA, cert number K31334.
