This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/18/2022
On June 30th, 1962, in front of 29,797 fans at Dodger Stadium, Hall of Famer pitcher Sandy Koufax threw the first of his four no-hitters. Facing the New York Mets, Koufax struck out 13 batters in the 5-0 Dodgers’ victory. Presented here is a 16 x 20-inch black and white photograph of Koufax throwing the final pitch of his first no-hitter. This photo shows Koufax in his follow through motion with the ball already on its way to Mets’ second baseman Felix Mantilla (not pictured), who on that pitch, grounded out to shortstop with a force out at second base to end the game. The Dodger Stadium scoreboard is in the background showing the line scores of the Mets and Dodgers. Koufax signed his name in silver marker below the image of the scoreboard and above his image, while inscribing “6/30/62”. This comes with a STICKER ONLY from Beckett Authentication (AA02688) and a COA from Online Authentics (OA-7827924) for the signature.
