The Rock Bottom Remainders is a rock charity supergroup consisting of some of the best-published writers, with many of them being amateur musicians. The band took their self-mocking name from the publishing term "remaindered book," a work of which the unsold remainder of the publisher's copies are sold at a reduced price. Their performances have collectively raised over $2 million for charity. The Rock Bottom Remainders played the opening of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.
Some of the literary world's most prolific authors are members of this band, and these gorgeous caricature lithographs are signed by 12 band members. Band members Stephen King, Amy Tan, Dave Barry, Scott Turow, Mitch Albom, Greg Iles, Matt Groening, Roy Blount, Jr., James McBride, Ridley Pearson, Sam Barry, David Horsey, and Kathi Kamen Goldmark have signed near their images. The signatures were signed in various colors of ink. The lithographs contain elements of edging and cornering that do nothing to detract from the literary luster contained within these limited-edition, numbers 177 and 184 out of 270 lithographs. The items come with LOA's from Beckett Authentication (AA13864, AA13865) for the signatures.
