Offered here is a ticket stub from the 1979 NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four game held on March 24, 1979. The Larry Bird-led Indiana State Sycamores' squad defeated DePaul 76-74, while the Magic Johnson-led Michigan State Spartans' squad defeated the University of Pennsylvania 101-67, setting up the Bird-Johnson rivalry that would define basketball during the 1980s. The games were held at the University of Utah's Sports and Special Events Center in Salt Lake City. The white ticket with red trim features the date and information for the game on the midsection. The ticket contains perforation marks on the right and bottom edges and some bending of the corners. The ticket stub comes encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (59178463) and is graded VG-EX 4.
