Former infielder Mike Andrews spent the first part of the 1973 season with the Chicago White Sox before being released on July 16th and then signing with the Oakland A’s on July 31st where he won a World Series title. This offered Wilson size 44 zipper-front White Sox road jersey was worn by Andrews in 1973. This jersey is powder blue with “Chicago” and a paraph sewn on the front in white and red tackle twill. Along the paraph is “WHITE SOX”, also sewn in white tackle twill. The collar and sleeve ends are bordered with thin red/white/red piping and a blue strip tag is sewn on the inside collar that has “Andrews” embroidered in black. The Wilson size 44 tag and a blue tag with “73 Set 1” is sewn on the front left tail. The back of the jersey and left sleeve have a restored “2” sewn on in red and white tackle twill. On the back of the jersey and on the left sleeve with the restored numbers are remnants of the number “61”, which indicates this jersey was most likely recycled for minor league use. There are also prominent red stitching outlines of the “1” on the left sleeve. This jersey displays heavy use with fading and the aforementioned removed numbers. This comes with a LOA from MEARS for the game use.
