As a promising rookie for the Montreal Expos, Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero burst into the National League in 1997 by hitting .302 with 11 home runs in 325 at-bats. Guerrero followed that up with a breakout performance in 1998, when he hit 38 home runs and drove in 109, all while maintaining a lofty .324 average. It was the start of a long career that would see him win the American League MVP Award in 2004 and see action in nine All-Star Games.
Offered here is one of the bats used by Guerrero during the 1998 season. Guerrero’s SAM SG1 model bat displays excellent game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks and bat rack streaks present on the barrel. Guerrero’s number “27” has been handwritten in black marker in the cupped barrel end, along with the bat’s specifications. Guerrero has signed this bat on the barrel in gold marker and inscribed “27”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B25724) for the game use and has been given a very high grade of GU 9.5. Additionally, there is a STICKER ONLY from PSA/DNA (AI95427) for the signature.
