Offered is a unique full flight uniform and accessories from the United States Air Combat Command once worn by Hall of Fame college football coach Lou Holtz. While Holtz's football coaching career is legendary, less known is the former Notre Dame head coach's visits to U.S. troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as his visits to military installations stateside over the last 20 years. On one of those occasions, Holtz was gifted with a full flight uniform and gear from U.S. Air Combat Command. Featured is a full-body flight suit in khaki color, size 40R, with the red, black, silver and bronze embroidered patch of "Air Combat Command" on the right chest, and a khaki embroidered with brown lettering patch with the caption "COACH LOU HOLTZ" on the left chest. On the right shoulder is an orange, red and tan embroidered patch with the caption "Victory by Valor". On the left shoulder is another patch, embroidered in brown, gold, tan, white and black with the caption "USCENTAF". The uniform also includes a pair of size 9 1/2 R khaki leather high ankle combat boots, as well as a camouflage khaki and brown cap, and a colorful "Operation Iraqi Freedom" bucket hat from Camp Patriot Kuwait Naval Base. Also included in Holtz's gear is a dark green adjustable baseball cap embroidered in white with the legend "4th Infantry Division Task Force Ironhorse" on the front, and the name "Lou Holtz" embroidered in white on the back left. Also included are a number of patches, challenge coins, flags and dog tags collected by Holtz in his visits with the U.S. troops in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait and other bases, including a small American flag, a small U.S. Marine Corps flag, a folded American flag, and Lou Holtz's dog tags from Shaw AFB in South Carolina. This item comes with a LOA from Lou Holtz, and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit the Holtz Charitable Foundation, Inc.
