The brain behind the arms of the 1986 World Series champion New York Mets former big league hurler Mel Stottlemyre served as the Mets pitching coach during some of the team’s best seasons from 1984-1993. Stottlemyre wore this size-44 W.A. Goodman and Sons New York Mets pullover V-neck road jersey during the team’s magical 1986 season. Stottlemyre’s name is stitched onto a nameplate in blue and orange tackle twill above his number 30 in the same fashion on the back. The Mets cursive logo is in the same blue and orange tackle twill above his number 30 on the front. Blue and orange piping runs across the shoulders and along the sides of the jersey and there is a “1962-1986 Mets 25th Anniversary” patch on the left shoulder. Stottlemyre signed this PSA/DNA pre-certified jersey in bold blue Sharpie with a “Game Used 1986” inscription above the W.A. Goodman & Sons manufacturers label on the left front; comes with LOAs from Mel Stottlemyre and noted sports jersey expert Dave Miedema.
