Presented here is a baseball signed by 27 members of the 1944 Pittsburgh Pirates and includes the signature of inaugural Hall of Fame inductee Honus Wagner. Wagner was one of the coaches on the 1944 squad that finished with a 90-63 record and second place in the National League. All of the signatures have been signed in black ink and include Hall of Famers Wagner, Lloyd Waner, Frank Frisch and Al Lopez. Other notable signatures include Spud Davis, Max Butcher, Rip Sewell, Vince DiMaggio, Frankie Gustine, Joe Vitelli, Bob Elliott, Frankie Zak, Babe Dahlgren, Nick Strincevich, Frank Colman, Preacher Roe, Ray Starr, Tommy O’Brien, Lee Handley, Hank Cameli, Jim Russell, Pete Coscarart, Fritz Ostermueller, Xavier Rescigno, Jake Flowers and Johnny Barrett.
