When Hall of Famer Joe Morgan joined the Cincinnati Reds in 1972, the second baseman became the final piston in the engine of the Big Red Machine that won back-to-back World Championships. Morgan drove in Ken Griffey, Sr. to win the 7th and deciding game of the 1975 World Series and was selected to play second base for eight consecutive All-Star Games. Morgan’s 1973-75 Hillerich & Bradsby S44 model bat shows outstanding game use with a crack in the handle. There are ball marks with stitch impressions are visible on the barrel and a light coat of pine tar is located on the upper handle. Other marks include red and green bat rack streaks and black ink transfers. The model number “S44 is stamped into the knob and Morgan’s number “8” is handwritten in faded black marker. This bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B25246) for the game use and has been given a very high grade of GU 9.
