At the height of the New York Yankees “Dynasty” run the 1949 club was the second World Series championship team in three years and the first of five consecutive Series winners, defeating the Brooklyn Dodgers 4-1 in their third Subway Series pairing. This faded label ball is signed by 28 members of the 1949 championship club including Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio on the sweet spot and other Cooperstown inductees; manager Casey Stengel and coach Bill Dickey, catcher Larry [Yogi] Berra and shortstop Phil Rizzuto. Other signatures include: Allie Reynolds, Charlie Silvera, George Snuffy Stirnweiss, Hank Bauer, Bobby Brown, Joe Page, Eddie Lopat, Dick Kryhoski, Jim Turner, Cliff Mapes, trainer Gus Mauch, Fred Sanford, Vic Raschi, Frank Crosetti, Johnny Lindell, Tommy Henrich, Duane Pillette, Jerry Coleman, Charlie Keller, Bob Porterfield, and Jack Phillips. All signatures are in black ballpoint pen ranging in quality from five to seven or eight resulting from a chipped lacquer finish and come with a JSA LOA.
