It is no secret that the Office of the President of the United States is the most powerful office in the country and the world. Included within this lot are four items signed by former holders of the nation’s highest office.
The first item in this presented lot is an 8 x 10-inch black and white photograph of Ronald Reagan when he served as Governor of California signed by the 40th President of the United States. Reagan is pictured standing at his desk flanked by the American flag and the flag of California. Reagan signed and inscribed “To ‘Red’ Jensen. Warm Regards” in black ink at the top of the photograph. The photo comes encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA (84256370), who assessed the autograph as AUTHENTIC.
The second item in this presented lot is a 14 3/4 x 11 3/4-inch framed collage featuring a photograph of Richard Nixon and a signed copy of his resignation letter. The photo and resignation letter rest on a cream matte with red, white, and blue trim. The copy of the resignation letter is dated August 9, 1974, and comes on Official White House letterhead. Nixon signed the resignation letter in blue ink. The frame contains some light scratching. The item comes with an LOA From PSA/DNA (AK09760) for the signature.
The third item in this presented lot is a 15 x 12-inch collage featuring a picture of President Jimmy Carter as he is sworn in as the 39th President of the United States and a copy of the Official Oath of Office signed by Carter. Carter, a dark horse candidate who served as the Governor of Georgia, narrowly defeated incumbent Gerald Ford in the 1976 election. The photo and the oath of office rest on a cream matte with red, white, and blue trim. The Official Oath of Office copy is dated January 20, 1977, and is on Official White House letterhead. Carter signed his name boldly with a black marker on the oath. The item comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA (AK09761) for the signature.
The final item in this lot is a 15 x 12-inch collage featuring a picture of President Joe Biden as he is sworn in as the 46th President of the United States and a copy of the Official Oath of Office signed by Biden. Biden, who served as President Barack Obama’s Vice President, defeated incumbent Donald Trump in the 2020 election. The photo and the oath of office rest on a cream matte with red, white, and blue trim. The Official Oath of Office copy is dated January 20, 2021, and is on Official White House letterhead. Biden signed his name in black ink on the oath. The item comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA (AK09759) for the signature.
