Graded GD 2 by SGC. Hall of Famer, in his Rookie Card appearance. This exceedingly popular, first gum card of Willie Mays hails from the scarce group of 1951 Bowman "High Number" subjects. The Giants' star outfielder appears in a quality illustration on the obverse of this appealing commemorative. Moderate and nondisruptive evidence-of-handling faults can be seen on the card's surfaces, and uniform wear affects the corners. The back retains full legibility, and faint traces of wrapper-wax residue are visible at the top and bottom aspects. Good condition.
