Offered is a 1996 Lou Holtz game worn and signed Notre Dame hat worn for career win #209 on September 5, 1996 vs. Vanderbilt. The navy ball cap features the interlocking "ND" logo embroidered in gold on the front above the word "Irish", also embroidered in gold. The back of the cap features a navy plastic adjustable band below the Reebok logo embroidered in gold. Holtz has signed and inscribed "Lou Holtz Vanderbilt 9/5/96" in black marker on the underside of the cap's bill, which is white cloth. Holtz and the Fighting Irish beat Vanderbilt 14-7 at Vandy. It was the 209th career coaching victory for Holtz, who has previously been the head coach at William & Mary, North Carolina State, and Arkansas before arriving in South Bend prior to the 1986 season. This item comes with a LOA from Lou Holtz, and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit the Holtz Charitable Foundation, Inc.
