Offered is a Lou Holtz personally owned North Carolina State University ACC and Peach Bowl towel. The xx x xx-inch white terry cloth Cannon 100-percent cotton towel is embroidered on the front in red, with the image of the NCSU wolf's head logo in the center. Across the top is the legend "ACC CHAMPIONS 1972 1973 WON 27 LOST 0" centered around a basketball, while across the bottom is the legend "NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY PEACH BOWL CHAMPIONS NCSU 49 W.VA. 13" centered around a football. The reverse side of the towel features the text in reverse, and the logo in reverse, primarily in white on red embroidery. The towel displays toning and has some staining. The 1972 Peach Bowl was played at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium in Georgia on December 29, 1972, between the Wolfpack and West Virginia. NC State finished 2nd in the Atlantic Coast Conference in Holtz's first year with the team. This was their first bowl game since 1967. West Virginia made their first bowl since the 1969 Peach Bowl in the 3rd year of Bobby Bowden as coach. This item comes with a LOA from Lou Holtz, and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit the Holtz Charitable Foundation, Inc.
