Presented is a 1991 State of Nevada Proclamation of July 8, 1991 as Lou Holtz Day. The white paper certificate is printed in blue type with the seal of the state of Nevada in blue at the background, and mounted on a xx x xx-inch brown woodgrain plaque. The proclamation includes the following text: "A Proclmation by the Governor Whereas, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, is building a new football and athletic center; and Whereas, Lou Holtz, Head Football Coach of the University of Notre Dame, has journeyed from South Bend, Indiana to support the UNLV football and athletic center; and Whereas, Lou Holtz has had an outstanding and distinguised career in coaching football at the home of the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, winning the National Football Championship in 1988; and Whereas, by his leadership, expertise and character, has followed in the footsteps and is carrying on the great tradition of Knute Rockne, Frank Leahy and Ara Parseghian; NOW, THEREFORE, I, BOB MILLER, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim July 8, 1991 as LOU HOLTZ Day in Nevada..." The certificate includes a gold paper seal of the state of Nevada in the lower left. Below the certificate, in the center of the plaque, is a silver metal circular seal of the State of Nevada. This item comes with a LOA from Lou Holtz, and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit the Holtz Charitable Foundation, Inc.
