Presented is a 1990 University of Notre Dame Alumni Association plaque naming Fighting Irish football coach Lou Holtz an honorary alumnus. The brown wood award features a gold metal plaque bordered in Navy blue, with the legend "The University of Notre Dame Alumni Association proudly confers the status of Honorary Alumnus on Louis "Lou" Holtz '90..." engraved in Navy blue, with the "ND" logo etched in Navy blue at the top left, and the gold and Navy blue enamel seal of the University of Notre Dame affixed at the top right. The award was presented to Holtz on April 27, 1990. The Notre Dame head coach from 1986 to 1996, Holtz graduated from Kent State in 1959 with a degree in history. This item comes with a LOA from Lou Holtz, and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit the Holtz Charitable Foundation, Inc.
