Offered is a 1993 award from the American Football Coaches Association presented to Hall of Fame college football coaching legend Lou Holtz. The brown wood plaque features a bronze colored metal plaque at the top center with the logo of "The American Football Coaches Association Founded 1922" engraved with the figure of a coach standing behind a kneeling football player, pointing towards a field. Below the logo plate is a black metal plaque etched in gold with the caption "1993 INDEPENDENT Ranked in Top 10 NCAA Division I-A University of Notre Dame". At the lower center is another black metal plate etched in gold with the "Sears" logo and the caption "Congratulates Coach LOU HOLTZ and His Staff Presented as Part of the "Sears Collegiate Champions" Program". The 1993 Notre Dame football squad finished with a 11-1 overall record under Holtz's direction, beat Texas A&M 24-21 in the Cotton Bowl, and finished the season ranked #2 in the nation. This item comes with a LOA from Lou Holtz, and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit the Holtz Charitable Foundation, Inc.
