Offered is a 1979 Hula Bowl "Award of Merit" presented to University of Arkansas football head coach Lou Holtz. Holtz was one of the coaches of the West All-Stars in the annual college football all-star contest in Halawa, Hawaii's Aloha Stadium played on January 6, 1979. Holtz is named on the certificate along with all the football players and coaches from the East and West squads that competed in that year's contest. The white paper certificate lists the Award of Merit winners in black print, with the headline "Hula Bowl" in stylized red type below one red and one blue stripe across the top. Those stripes are duplicated across the bottom, while a gold seal from the "United Savings Helms Athletic Foundation" in the lower left. This certificate is displayed in a 14 x 17-inch Navy blue wood with glass frame. This item comes with a LOA from Lou Holtz, and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit the Holtz Charitable Foundation, Inc.
