Offered is a 1975 "Winning Football Coach" plaque presented by North Carolina State University to head football coach Lou Holtz. The xx x xx-inch brown wood plaque features a black and silver engraved metal plate on the front, with black & white engraved photographs of the 1972, 1973 and 1974 NC State teams coached by Holtz arranged on the left side, with the schedule and scores of all three teams engraved in silver on the right. At the top left is an engraved red and white seal of NC State, and below the logo is the caption, engraved in silver, "PRESENTED TO LOU HOLTZ WINNING FOOTBALL COACH". At the top right is an engraved in silver, black and white photograph of Holtz on one knee with a football held in his hands. Holtz took the NC State football job in 1972, and had a 33–12–3 record in four seasons. His first three teams achieved final Top 20 rankings, including a final Top 10 finish in the 1974 Coaches Poll. His 1973 team won the ACC Championship. His Wolfpack teams played in four bowl games, going 2–1–1. This item comes with a LOA from Lou Holtz, and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit the Holtz Charitable Foundation, Inc.
