Presented is a 1978 Orange Bowl Classic Don W. McCafferty Award trophy presented to coach Lou Holtz. The trophy incorporates silver metal figures and a plaque, as well as blue metal and brown wood columns and base. Atop the trophy is a figure of a quarterback throwing the football, while at each corner of the top platform are silver metal eagles with wings spread. At the center of the trophy is the silver metal plaque engraved with the legend "Don W. McCafferty Award Lou Holtz Head Coach University of Arkansas Winner Orange Bowl Classic Arkansas 31 vs Oklahoma 6 Compliments of Dave Woolf Trophies". Please note that the presentation panel with the plaque is loose from the overall trophy but otherwise in excellent condition.This item comes with a LOA from Lou Holtz, and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit the Holtz Charitable Foundation, Inc.
