Presented is a 1966 Southern Conference Co-Champion award trophy from the collection of coach Lou Holtz. The gold metal and brown wood trophy includes a gold metal football on a pedestal at the top of a wood base. On the front of the base is a bronze and black circular badge with the logo "Southern Conference 1921". Below the badge is engraved the legend "Co-Champion 1966". The original Balfour maker's mark sticker is on the underside of the base. During the 1966 college football season, William & Mary and East Carolina were co-champs of the Southern Conference. As Holtz was in his first year as an assistant at South Carolina in 1966, this trophy was from his office during his later role as head coach of William & Mary. This item comes with a LOA from Lou Holtz, and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit the Holtz Charitable Foundation, Inc.
