Presented is a 1988 University of Notre Dame "Fighting Irish" National Champions plaque from the collection of coach Lou Holtz. The brown woodgrain plaque features an 8 x 10-inch color team photograph of the '88 Notre Dame football team at the top center. Below the photo is a gold metal plate engraved in black with the legend "University of Notre Dame "Fighting Irish" 1988 National Champions Head Coach - Lou Holtz". At the lower left is the interlocking "ND" logo in Navy blue, while at the lower right is the "Fighting Irish" leprechaun figurein green and white. Also on the plate is inscribed the 1988 Notre Dame schedule and results, as well as the final polling ranking the Irish #1. Please note that there is a white scratch in the lower right of the lower plate. This item comes with a LOA from Lou Holtz, and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit the Holtz Charitable Foundation, Inc.
