While not as flashy or well-known as his Hall of Fame counterparts on the vaunted Big Red Machine Cincinnati Reds of the early-to-mid 1970’s, center fielder Cesar Geronimo was a solid contributor to those great teams. During the 1973-74 seasons in which this offered Hillerich & Bradsby G105 model bat dates to, Geronimo maintained a solid .250 average. Geronimo’s bat displays outstanding game use with a crack on the center brand. There are ball marks, stitch impressions, black ink transfers and cleat imprints present on the barrel. There is a heavy coating of pine tar on the handle and the bat’s model number “G105” is stamped on the knob. Geronimo’s number “20” is handwritten on the knob and top barrel in black marker. A piece of tape has been applied to the barrel that has inscribed “Cracked by Cesar Geronimo in batting practice 8-21-74”. Please note that PSA/DNA has determined “The tape on the barrel identifies the date the bat was originally acquired and includes brief details as to when the bat was used. The tape was applied by the original owner and not the Cincinnati Reds Gift Shop, which also applied tape to the barrels of bats that were used by the players.” This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B25244) for the game use.
