Graded 30 GD 2 ("GD 2" equivalent) by SGC. Hall of Famer. This hand-cut Babe Ruth card -- issued as one panel of a candy box – is a seldom-seen reminder of the wide exposure in advertising that Ruth received during his career. The card was distributed as part of a promotional offer, the terms of which allowed the consumer to exchange 250 such pieces for an autographed Babe Ruth baseball. This example reveals considerable evidence of past handling, in the form of inevitable but largely camouflaged creasing, but retains full, charming integrity within the illustration and surrounding graphics.
