Known simply as "The King", Clark Gable was the heartthrob of Hollywood's Golden Era. Gable starred in some of Hollywood's most enduring classics such as "Gone With The Wind", Mutiny on the Bounty", Test Pilot" and "It Happened One Night". This personal check is dated June 11, 1945, shortly after the star was discharged from the Army Air Force and beginning to embark on the second half of his blockbuster career. Drawn on the Security First National Bank of Los Angeles, the check is made out to the Herald Express newspaper for $3.30. The check is signed by Gable with a nice clean signature. No cancellation stamp intrudes on the through the autograph though there are perforation holes on the "C" and "l". The check is authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
