Offered is a lot of (3) Lou Holtz personal items, including a 1998 Coach of the Year medallion, a wood plaque and an Ohio House of Representatives special recognition certificate. The first item in this lot is a resolution from the Ohio House of Representatives "honoring Lou Holtz for Outstanding Achievement" dated February 3, 1989. The typewritten document in blue ink features an illustration of the Ohio State House in blue at the top center, and the signatures of Vernal G. Riffe, Jr. (Speaker), John D. Shivers, Jr. (State Representative) and William W. Pfeiffer (Legislative Clerk) in black marker in the lower right. The Ohio state seal is in gold foil at the lower left, with two red ribbons. The resolution is displayed in a black with gold accent wood with glass frame. The second item in this lot is a laminated brown wood plaque in the shape of a football, with a white plastic stitch mounted at the top center, two white plastic stripes attached at each end, the gold metal letters "Notre Dame" affixed at the top and bottom center, and in the center a navy blue and white sticker with the legend "IRISH" under a green, white, navy blue and yellow sticker of the "Fighting Irish" leprechaun. In the upper right is mounted a gold metal plate with the engraved legend "Coach Lou Holtz "The Greatest"". The reverse side of the plaque features an inscription in black marker, to "Lou...Danny McCue your #1 fan". The third item in this lot is a bronze-colored metal medallion engraved with the legend "Coach of the Year Medallion" and the image of a football player taking direction from a coach. The reverse side of the medallion is engraved with the legend "In honor of his recognition by fellow members of the American Football Coaches Association Presented to Lou Holtz 1998 by Eastman Kodak Company". This lot comes with a LOA from Lou Holtz, and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit the Holtz Charitable Foundation, Inc.
