Cal Ripken Jr. wore this black and orange Baltimore Orioles jacket during the 1996 MLB regular season and the 1996 MLB Japan All-Star Series. Ripken had a spectacular year in MLB in 1996, posting a triple crown slash line of .278/26/102 with 40 doubles. The tour saw a team of MLB All-Stars play against their Japanese counterparts in an eight-game series, which saw the Americans win four games and the Japanese two, with two games ending in a tie. This button-down jacket, which was manufactured by Starter, comes directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. The jacket has a black torso and orange sleeves and has “Orioles” with a paraph sewn on across the chest diagonally in orange, black and white tackle twill. The collar and waistline have orange, black and white striping patterns, while the inside is lined with orange nylon. The Starter tag is sewn on the inside back collar and has Ripken’s number “8” handwritten in black marker. Ripken has marked the clear plastic bag in blue marker with “1996 Regular Season plus Japan Tour Orioles Jacket”. This comes with a signed LOA from Cal Ripken, Jr.
