Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. led the Baltimore Orioles to an 85-77 record in 1993 as he led the American League with 641 at-bats and finished the season with a .257 batting average, 24 home runs and 90 RBI. It was the second season for Oriole Park at Camden Yards, which has become the inspiration for many of the new ballparks that have opened in the last 20 years. Camden Yards hosted the 1993 All-Star game and Ripken continued his pursuit of Lou Gehrig’s consecutive games played streak. Coming directly from Ripken’s personal collection, this offered Baltimore Orioles’ cap was worn during the 1993 season. This all-black wool model New Era cap is a size 7 3/8 with a six-panel crown and the Orioles oriole logo embroidered in orange, black and white stitching. The inside sweatband has the New Era 59/50, Authentic Diamond Collection and size 7 3/8 tags. The underside brim is green with Ripken’s number “8” handwritten in black marker. A piece of white tape with “93” is on the underside brim. The back has an MLB logo embroidered in Orioles’ colors. This hat displays excellent game use with dirt and sweat stains throughout. This comes with a signed LOA from Cal Ripken, Jr.
