Baseball’s ironman Cal Ripken Jr. wore this Baltimore Orioles alternate road hat during the 1995 season, the year he broke Lou Gehrig’s MLB record for most consecutive games played. Ripken made yet another All-Star team in 1995, smashing 17 home runs and driving in 88 runners for the third place Orioles. Ripken played six more All-Star seasons, retiring after the 2001 campaign with career marks of 3,184 hits and 431 homers. This cap is black, with an orange brim and a black and orange MLB logo patch sewn on the back and shows moderate to heavy use. Ripken’s number “8” is written on the gray underside of the brim in black marker. “Diamond Collection”, “New Era the 5950 PRO MODEL 100% WOOL”, and size “7 3/8” tags are sewn on the back sweatband of the cap. This comes directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr., and a signed LOA from Cal that will accompany this hat.
