Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr’s 1998 season was when the Ironman decided to end the consecutive games’ streak as it came to an end when he sat out the September 20th home game against the New York Yankees. His amazing run concluded at 2,632 consecutive games played, a record that will never be broken. Ripken still continued to put up solid numbers in 1998 (14 home runs, 61 RBI and a .271 batting average) and he wore these orange and black Franklin batting gloves during that season. These gloves have black palms and fingers with orange on the backhand and a white “Franklin” patch. The Velcro wrist strap is black with “RIP-8” in white. These gloves display solid game use and come directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr., with a signed LOA from Cal that will accompany these gloves.
