Graded MINT 9 by PSA. Hall of Famer. Among more than 11,800 copies recorded in PSA's census reporting, just nine examples have been placed at a higher tier. This late-career entry of Mantle was Topps' next-to-last regular season issue featuring the great slugger. The company selected a left-handed batting pose, and surrounded the choice likeness with unforgiving, patterned borders. Here, the beautifully resolved photograph is centered with exceptional visual symmetry, and all of its other attributes conform to a virtually never-seen high standard. Mint condition, with extraordinary eye appeal!
