Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Hall of Famer. Among more than 5,200 copies recorded in PSA's census reporting, just thirty-two examples have been placed at a higher, unqualified tier. Even non-collectors stand in awe of Jackie Robinson's 1955 Topps card. The gumcard designers hit their perfect stride in the conception and execution of this artistically splendid creation. On its front, deep and brilliant yellow fades to a milder tone. Red enhances lightly hued zones to perfection. Black captioning lends just the right foundation. And Robinson's face, hat, and smaller batting figure are all precisely balanced. The placement and angle of the facsimile autograph completes the virtuosity of the card's layout. The offered example presents a satisfying appearance created by virtually flawless print, clean surfaces and lustrous gloss. All four corners are sharp and well-formed, and the item's fresh, original state validates PSA's Near Mint to Mint grading assignment.
