Through 20 summers of unparalleled consistency, Derek Jeter established himself as one of the greatest players in baseball history with a 310 average, 3,465 hits - 260 of them home runs, 5 World Championships. All of those numbers add up to one Hall of Fame career. After 2,746 games, Sunday, September 28, 2014 was The Captain's last one. As a nod to their evil nemesis, the Red Sox thoughtfully added a special Jeter plaque to the side of each base used that historic day. This 1st base was used in the 8th inning of that September 28, 2014 game. Jeter went 1 for 2 with an RBI, then left a major league baseball field for the last time as a player. The base shows good game use with some Fenway Park turf still clinging to the surface. The bottom has been marked "1st" in red marker. MLB hologram EK 626417 and Famatics stickers are affixed. The metal securing post is still attached to the base.
