Encapsulated and graded 9.4 with “Off-White to White Pages” by CGC. Offered here is a copy of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” #1, published by Mirage Studios in 1984. Created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” was initially intended as a one-shot. Still, the popularity of the turtles, transformed by ooze into sentient beings who fight the evil Shredder, turned into an ongoing series that lasted until 2014. The comic launched the “Turtles” franchise, leading to five television series, six feature films, numerous video games, and toys and merchandise. The offered comic features a story written by Laird and Eastman that tells the origin story of the Turtles, their leader, Splinter, and their foe, Shredder. The interior art was done by both Eastman and Laird, with Eastman drawing the now-iconic cover. According to CGC’s census report, only 88 copies of this iconic comic have achieved a higher grade, making this offered copy with a grade of 9.4 all the more desirable. A graded copy of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” #1 comes in Near Mint condition and is the perfect addition to any “TMNT” collection.
